Sanyuan Cable Fire Performance Test Laboratory

In a global market where safety awareness is increasingly prioritized, SANYUAN Group continues to align with cutting-edge industry trends by consistently investing in the development and design of advanced fire-retardant and fire-resistant cables. In 2025, SANYUAN upgraded our cable fire performance test apparatus and is proud to announce that we are now equipped with the top class, state-of-the-art Cable Fire Performance Test Laboratory, giving us the capability to conduct comprehensive testing on the fire safety performance of cables.

Comprehensive Fire Safety Testing Capabilities

Test for vertical flame propagation
(single insulated wire or cable)

This test evaluates the burning behavior of single cable (600mm sample)
in a fire.
By verifying whether the flame can extinguish itself and the length of the burn
damage, it can be judged whether the cable meets the CPR Eca level.
Standards

  • IEC 60332-1-2
  • EN 60332-1-2
  • UL 1581 FT1&VW-1

Test for vertical flame spread
(bunched wires or cables)

This test method tests a cable bundle
(3600mm) with regard to fire
propagation.
According to the flame spread after
applying specified flame power and
burning time to the cable bundle, the
cable can be classified into Category A,
B, C, and D.
Standards

  • IEC 60332-3-22 up to 25 Cat A-D
  • EN 60332-3-22 up to 25 Cat. A-D

Test for heat release and smoke
production during flame spread
(bunched wires or cables)

This advanced test not only measures
flame spread but also assesses the
burning behavior and smoke production
of bunched cable
Fire growth rate and heat release are
the main basis for cable CPR Dca to
B1ca classification, while smoke
generation and flaming droplets are
used for additional classifications of s
and d.
Standards

  • EN 50399 CPR Dca-B1ca

Test of circuit integrity (FE/PH)

This test is used to determine whether a single cable can
maintain circuit integrity during a specific fire exposure period.
Depending on market standards and specific
application requirements, mechanical shock or
water spray may also be applied during the cable
burning process. Cables that meet the test
requirements are marked with 'FE180,' 'PH120,' or
other relevant standard compliance marks
following their model numbers.

Test of circuit integrity (fire only)

  • IEC 60331-11/-21/-23/-25 (>750 °C)
  • BS 6387 (Category C) (950 °C)

Test of circuit integrity (fire and
mechanical shock)
  • IEC 60331-1/-2 (>830 °C, 2A)
  • EN 50200 (PH) (>830 °C, 2A)
  • BS 6387 (Category Z) (950 °C, 3A)

Test of circuit integrity (fire and water)
  • EN 50200 Annex E (>830 °C, 2A)

  • BS 6387 (Category W) (650 °C, 3A)
